Holiday and house-party resets

Holiday and house-party resets

Before guests: every room ready. After guests: the house put back the way the card says. Holiday weeks fill early, and the calendar closes in November.

In every visit

  • Guest rooms made, baths stocked and floors done the day before

  • The kitchen and pantry reset before the cook arrives

  • Table linen pressed, glassware and silver polished by hand

  • After: linens stripped and washed, rooms and floors put back

  • Added hands are known to Enid and sign in like the rest of the crew

A visit

How a reset goes

  1. 01

Step 1: You send the dates

Arrivals, departures and the rooms that will be used.

  2. 02

Step 2: A walk of the guest rooms

Enid or the lead looks at every room with you or alone, with your list.

  3. 03

Step 3: The day before: the reset

Rooms, table and kitchen made ready, floors last.

  4. 04

Step 4: The day after: the put-back

Linens washed, rooms returned to the card, the house closed up.

Before we arrive

What to leave us, and what we pass on

  • Before we arrive

    • Send the arrival and departure dates early

    • Tell us where decorations and linens are kept

    • Leave a note on anything fragile or inherited

  • What we do not do

    • Cook, serve or cater

    • Hang lights or decorations outdoors

    • Work on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Year's Day

    • Handle gifts or wrapping

Questions about resets

How early should I book?

By November 15 for the holiday weeks. For other parties, three weeks ahead makes it easy.

Do you work on the day itself?

Not on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Year's Day. The reset is the day before and the put-back the day after.

Do you cater or serve?

No. We do the house, not the table.

Hold the dates for your guests

Send the dates and the rooms. Enid will say whether the week can be done and who will be there.
